Magnussen suffers ankle injury after huge shunt

Kevin Magnussen was fortunate to get away largely unscathed following his harrowing accident during the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Renault driver lost control of his car going through the iconic Eau Rouge in the sixth lap of the race.
The Dane hit the left hand barrier backwards violently and spun around in a cloud of dust and debris.
Magnussen was able to get himself out of the wreck but hobbled away. As he was whisked to the medical centre, the race was red flagged.
Later, Renault confirmed he had suffered “a small cut to the left ankle and has been escorted to a nearby hospital for further routine checks…”
