Pastor Maldaonado admits he’s excited by the prospect of teaming up with Bruno Senna as Williams look to break back into the top ten.

Williams suffered through what was statistically their worst season in 2011 but having switched to Renault engines and undergone a shake-up of their technical personnel, the team are hopeful of an improved showing.

Maldaonado admits that the Williams’ aim for the season is to be a regular points scorer and that in order to do this both drivers need to perform. The Venezuelan was partnered by Rubens Barrichello last season but the experienced campaigner has been replaced by Senna for the coming season and Maldaonado is confident that former Renault man has what is required to help the team achieve their goals.

“I know Bruno from many years ago so that will be very interesting,” Maldonado told Sky Sports.

“As a team to see the development during the season because in Formula One we never stop, we always need to improve and improve. He’s a young guy as well so I think the motivation is quite big, and we need to work together to push hard to develop the car and to be very fit and competitive during the year.”
