Marko blasts ‘paranoid’ Wolff

After Mercedes boss Toto Wolff called for F1 bosses to scrap the 2017 regulations, Red Bull’s Helmut Marko has strongly disagreed.

Marko slammed Wolff’s comments about F1 being better off with a more stable approach rather than radical changes, saying that his fellow Austrian is only looking out for himself.

“We have been very lucky to see very good races,” Marko told motorsport-magazin.com in an interview.

“There were always people coming from behind that actually shouldn’t have been behind.

“Except for Toto and the teams that must follow him due to their engine contracts, everyone is for a change. Even Sergio Marchionne agrees.

“Only Herr Wolff has this paranoid fear that Mercedes will lose its superiority if you change even the smallest thing on the engine or chassis. Toto Wolff is doing everything he can to prevent any change.”
