Marko rubbishes Allison rumours

Helmut Marko says rumours that James Allison is on his way to Red Bull Racing are “total nonsense” but there is a chance that he will join Renault.

Allison has been unemployed since late July when the technical director  left Ferrari by mutual consent.

Initially linked to Renault, of late there have been reports that Allison could be off to Red Bull, lined up to succeed design guru Adrian Newey.

Marko, though, says there is not true.

“This is total nonsense,” he told Auto Bild.

“We’re not talking to him, but are of the opinion that he’s going back to Enstone with Renault.”

The Red Bull advisor was also asked about reports that James Key could leave Toro Rosso for Williams.

“This speculation has more of a real background,” he replied.
