Marussia celebrate Glock’s P12
It may not be a first World Championship point but Timo Glock’s 12th-placed finish in Singapore could mean millions for Marussia.
Starting 20th on the grid, Glock raced to 12th place under the lights at the Marina Bay circuit, securing Marussia’s best result of the season.
And, as it was better than Caterham’s P13, it moved Marussia up to tenth in the Constructors’ Championship.
“We were pretty nervous, but you have to take your chances and we did,” CEO Graeme Lowden told the BBC.
“We have a good car now and I think we’re ahead of our nearerst rivals to that extent.
“We want to score points like any other team. If any team finish the year without points it goes off your highest single finish.
“Ours is 12th so that could give us 10th place overall in the championship and that is important for commercial rights, ie money.”
