Felipe Massa is hoping that talent wins the day when Williams eventually decide his replacement.
At present the team has a short list of Robert Kubica, Paul di Resta, Daniil Kvyat and Pascal Wehrlein in the running to replace the Brazilian.
It is, however, Kubica who is believed to be leading the chase.
And while Massa isn’t willing to name his favourite, he is hoping that the team at least signs someone “good” who has “talent.”
“I am sure they need to have a good driver to replace me otherwise it will not be very great,” Massa said.
“If the team cannot see that what can I do… sometimes the talent doesn’t count compared to some other things.
“That is the way it is sometimes. Unfortunately, it can be a shame in Formula 1. Not at all of the teams.”
