McLaren passes crash tests with new car

McLaren’s 2017 challenger has passed the mandatory FIA crashes, all it needs now is a coat of paint.
With revised aerodynamic regulations in play, Formula 1 is hoping that this year’s car will be up to five seconds per lap quicker than their predecessors.
The new rules meant many of the teams opted to turn their attention to the 2017 builds earlier than usual.
McLaren is the latest team to announce that their car has come through the mandatory crash tests.
Racing director Eric Boullier announced on Twitter: “After a lot of hard work, I want to say thanks to those who helped us pass the FIA’s crash tests.
‘Now to get it painted…!”
