McLaren suffer more Honda engine woe

McLaren's miserable start to winter testing continued as they were forced to change their Honda power unit for the second time in two days.

An oil systems issue on Monday meant that McLaren were already having to play catch-up, but their issues have run into a second day with Stoffel Vandoorne notching up just 29 laps.

The early signs did not look for McLaren, as the Belgian stopped after two laps before bringing the MCL32 to a stop in the pit entrance.

Mechanics were able to get the car back out on track, but not for long as the Honda engine would go on to lose all power and bring another session to a premature end.

The exact cause for the loss of power is as yet unknown and another investigation is currently taking place to identify the issue.
