Mercedes: Good talks with Bottas about the future

Toto Wolff hopes to have Valtteri Bottas’ contract resolved before the end of September.
The Mercedes driver joined the team at the start of this season on a one-year contract, replacing the retired Nico Rosberg.
Bottas excelled during the first half of the championship, bagging two wins to put his name in the hunt for this year’s World title.
The Finn is keen to stay on Mercedes with his motorsport boss revealing he hopes to have Bottas’ future resolved before the end of September.
“It’s a good time to talk and to think things through,” said Wolff.
“We had some good discussions with Valtteri before Hungary.
“I’d certainly like to go to Asia for the final races with a decision.”
