No contract talks at Ferrari just yet
Ferrari won’t be entering talks with their drivers about 2018 just yet with Maurizio Arrivabene stating the only focus is this year’s championship.
Ferrari are locked in an intense battle with Mercedes for the championship titles.
While Sebastian Vettel is leading the Drivers’ standings by 12 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes have an eight-point advantage over Ferrari in the race for the Constructors’ title.
And while those battles are raging, Arrivabene says Ferrari won’t be thinking about their 2018 line-up despite both Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen being out of contract at the end of this season.
“We are not thinking about contracts now, we are thinking about the championship,” he said.
“They are two separate issues. We are all concentrated.
“As I have said many, many times we are working all together, including the drivers, we are very focused on our job and I have to say the contract is not an issue.”
