Stoffel Vandoorne will run the number ’47’ on his McLaren-Honda as he makes his Formula 1 debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Vandoorne was handed a late call up on Thursday after Fernando Alonso was sidelined by the FIA doctors.
The Spaniard suffered chest injuries in his Australian Grand Prix and although the pneumothorax has cleared up, the rib fractures have yet to heal.
As such McLaren test driver Vandoorne will make his debut this weekend, the Belgian set to race alongside Jenson Button at the Sakhir circuit.
The FIA confirmed his number ’47’ on the offical Bahrain entry list.
