Perez satisfied despite losing place to Williams

After Force India dropped back down to fifth on the Constructors’ Championship, Sergio Perez was still pleased that both he and Nico Hulkenberg managed to get into the points in Monza.

The Mexican admitted that their performance level was weak in Italy compared to Williams, who took their fourth place back on the Championship table.

With Perez and Hulkenberg finishing P8 and P10 respectively, Williams doubled Force India’s points tally as Valtteri Bottas placed P5 and Felipe Massa P9.

However, the 26-year-old claimed that throughout the season there have been certain tracks where Williams were stronger than them so it was no surprise that they were quick. He also added that onlookers can expect his Silverstone-based outfit to be quite strong at the next race in Singapore.

“We’ve seen a couple of races where they’re stronger and we’re stronger, but the important thing like from today is we maximise the potential, we score as much, as many points as are available to us and that was important for us,” he said.

“Williams was quite quick [this weekend] so hopefully we can come back as strongly at Singapore and keep the challenge on them.

“It’s a very different track, so I expect us to be quite strong there.”
