Petrov chasing F1 comeback

Vitaly Petrov is determined to return to Formula One next season despite splitting with his manager.

While Petrov was dropped by Caterham at the end of last season, the Russian driver’s manager Oksana Kosachenko was signed by the team as their new commercial director.

But despite being left out in the cold, Petrov insists he’s not giving up on a future in Formula One.

“Of course, I’ll try to find some outlets for negotiations with different teams,” he told F1news.ru. “At first there was stress but now I’m more or less rested and set to work at looking for a place for 2014.”

Having split with Kosachenko, the 28-year-old says he is now in control of my own future.

“I will sort out who works with me and for whom I’ll be working next year. There will be some changes that I do not want to take about it but in the near future it will become clearer.”
