Formula 1 drivers will have the option of racing the supersoft Pirelli tyre during October’s Mexican Grand Prix.
Last season Formula 1 returned to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez following a 23-year absence.
The drivers raced the soft and medium compounds during last year’s event while this season they will also have the option of the supersoft tyre.
All drivers must have a set of the mediums and softs available for the grand prix and are required to use at least one, while everyone in Q3 must run the supersoft tyres.
The teams are free to choose the remaining 10 sets; making up 13 sets in total for the weekend.
