The 2016 season is still more than three months away, but Pirelli has already announced its rubber choices for the opening race in Australia.
With the new tyre regulations coming into effect next year, the Italian company will make the medium, soft and supersoft compounds available at Melbourne Park over the weekend of March 20.
It will be the first time that the red-branded supersofts will be available in Australia, which comes as a result of the rule changes.
Pirelli has revealed that the supersofts will be used in Qualifying 3 so each driver must have at least one set available. Those who make it into the top 10 will give the set back to Pirelli after the session while those who miss the cut will have them available for the race.
All drivers must also use at least one set of mediums and one set of softs during the race.
Thirteen sets of tyres will be made available to each driver for a race weekend and their strategists then have to nominate the remaining 10 sets they want to use over the three days.
