Q&A with Jolyon Palmer

Editor

Having spent time in the simulator at Enstone, Jolyon Palmer is looking forward to his FP1 drive at the Canadian GP…

Q: What have you been up to at Enstone today?
JP
: I had a few things to do here at Enstone today with the engineers. I mostly did simulator work, it was a good session. We were building on the Barcelona test and trying some new parts that worked well in Monaco. It feels like we’re progressing in the right direction.

Q: Have you been to Canada before?
JP:
It’s my first time in Canada, I’ve never driven there before. I’ve seen it on the TV and obviously driven around it on computer games but never in real life, yet!

Q: What do you think about the Circuit de Gille Villeneuve?
JP:
It looks like a really cool track, the barriers are close especially the infamous Wall of Champions. There are lots of overtaking opportunities, it looks like a great track to race on. I’m looking forward to seeing the beautiful city and of course the famous Circuit itself.

Q: Are you looking forward to your next outing in the E23?
JP:
I’m really looking forward to my next outing in FP1, it’s really special to be out there with everyone and be part of a proper Grand Prix session.

Q: Having raced in Monaco for the last four years, what was it like to experience the weekend from a different perspective?
JP:
It’s always nice to be in Monaco but nothing will ever compare to the experience of driving around the streets of the principality.  The track is awesome, just walking around it in the evenings was really nostalgic, remembering driving flat out inches from the barriers.  Hopefully I’ll be back on track next year!
