Kimi Raikkonen concedes Ferrari did not have enough to beat Mercedes as he brought his SF15-T home on the Abu Dhabi podium, wrapping up P4 in the standings.
The Finn started Sunday's 55-lap race at the Yas Marina circuit third on the grid and it was in third that he finished.
A quiet and somewhat lonely race was almost ruined by a slow pit stop in which his mechanics struggled to change his front right tyre.
However in the end that had no sway in the result as he could not challenge Mercedes out front while team-mate Sebastian Vettel was over 20s behind.
It was Raikkonen third top-three result of this season and it means he claimed fourth place in the Drivers' standings.
"I think we started better this season but it has not been ideal but that's how it goes," said the 36-year-old.
"The speed has been there but mistakes and problems and stuff like that so the end result has not been great many times.
"But this weekend was a bit better, everything was working well, and running smoothly.
"Obviously still not enough to beat these two but we did our best."
