Kimi Raikkonen admits he’s not happy with his seventh place on the Buddh grid as he believed his Lotus E20 should have been quicker than that.

Still the only title contender without a race victory to his name, Raikkonen’s chances of getting on the board were dealt a blow when he failed to shine in qualifying.

Despite his Lotus team making several changes to his E20 ahead of the session, the Finn could only manage a 1:26.236, which put him almost a full second behind pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel.

“We changed the car after this morning’s session and we were quite confident heading in to qualifying,” said the Finn.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t seem to have any grip this afternoon so it was much more difficult than we thought.

“I’m quite disappointed to be starting from seventh as I thought we had a much better car than that.”

With four races, including Sunday’s Indian GP, remaining Raikkonen is third in the Drivers’ Championship, 48 points adrift of Vettel.
