Raikkonen downplays title concerns

Kimi Raikkonen has refuted suggestions that Ferrari will struggle in the upcoming races, saying they head to Japan “full of fight.”

Many predicted that Ferrari would dominate last time out in Singapore, a race that Sebastian Vettel started from pole position with Raikkonen third on the grid.

However, opening lap contact with Max Verstappen meant both Scuderia drivers failed to see the end of lap 1, never mind the chequered flag.

As such Vettel fell 28 points behind Lewis Hamilton in the championship race with some suggesting that Ferrari’s title race is over.

Raikkonen says it is not.

“You [the media] assume that it’s difficult, we don’t,” he told Motorsport.com.

“We go there, it’s another race, another weekend, and we go there full of fight and we’ll do our best.”
