Kimi Raikkonen has said that the speculation around his future is the same every year, but is confident of signing a new deal with Ferrari.
The 2007 World Champion is out of contract at the end of the season, and has not been on the top step of the podium during his time with the Scuderia.
Raikkonen is used to hearing these stories, saying that he has heard them for the majority of his career in the sport.
The Finn said: “It’s been the same story every year since I can remember, maybe 15 years, every year I’m out.”
He currently sits third in the Drivers’ Championship, despite retiring in Bahrain, which resulted in a mechanic suffering a broken leg.
The Finn still loves racing though: “I’ll do my stuff on my side. I enjoy the racing, that’s the only reason I’m here. The rest, we’ll see how it plays out.”
He is looking forward to the rest of the season, though, and believes he and Ferrari are a good match.
Raikkonen said: “In the team we know what we want to do and if all those things fit together with all our feeling we’ll see what happens. Right not all I want to do is well it’s a long season and a long way until the end of the year.”
