Not the first time this season, Kimi Raikkonen felt he left plenty of time still out on track after settling for P3 on the grid for Sunday's race in Brazil.
After Hamilton found the barriers in Q1, it presented Ferrari with a better opportunity to lock-out the front row between the Finn and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
However, Vettel was pipped to pole by Valtteri Bottas and Raikkonen could not force himself into the mix after finishing two tenths off the pace in P3.
"I felt I could have been better but it was a bit tricky to get the tyres to get the right window," Raikkonen said afterward.
"The last run was better but it wasn't enough.
"I think we improved the car for today and the weather can change quickly. It will be a long race and we will do our best."
