British energy drinks company Rich Energy could be announced as the new owners of the Force India F1 team as early as this week.
While many had expected Force India to rename the team when they launched their 2018 car, they stayed silent on the matter.
At the same time reports emerged suggesting that a £200million takeover was on the cards.
Force India denied this.
However, according to the Daily Express a deal is in the pipeline and could be concluded as “early as this week.”
British drinks company Rich Energy are heading the consortium intent on buying the F1 team as they look to rival Red Bull in both the drinks’ market, and on the F1 track.
“F1 is the perfect platform for the brand, motorsport is all about a fast, glamorous lifestyle. It works for Red Bull,” said founder and chief executive William Storey.
