Nico Rosberg may have had the advantage over Michael Schumacher since they became team-mates, however, he insists it hasn’t come easy.
Schumacher has come in for a lot of stick since returning to Formula One with Mercedes GP last season.
While fans are used to watching the German fight for race victories and World titles, his return has seldom even seen him battle for a podium finish.
However, Rosberg believes his seven-time World Champion team-mate still has what it takes.
Asked by Auto Motor und Sport whether rivals were losing their respect for Schumacher, Rosberg said: “No, not at all.
“He is and remains the most successful racing driver of all time.
“It is still very difficult to be quicker than Michael.
“I have to work hard in every practice session. For me, everything must fit together in order to stay ahead.
“I’m happy that it has worked well so far against him. But I also know that at the next race it may be different.”
