Nico Rosberg insists he’s “not angry” with Mercedes for coming second to team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the Drivers’ Championship.
A close battle between the team-mates, which meant the title race went down to the season-ending grand prix, petered out in Abu Dhabi when Rosberg was hit by car troubles.
With his ERS failing, the German lacked the power needed to challenge Hamilton and he limped home in 14th place.
As such, Rosberg finished runner-up in the Championship, 67 points behind Hamilton.
He told Germany’s Auto Bild: “I’m not angry with the team. Why would I be mad?
“First, I’m just not so. We win together and we lose together.
“Second, Mercedes built me by far the best car of my Formula 1 career.
“When my initial disappointment has passed, I will look forward again. I have a plan, I know the nuances in races where I need to improve.”
The 29-year-old, though, had previously admitted that it was disappointing to have lost in such a fashion.
“Put it this way: I would like to have fought until the last lap. That is the crucial point.
“I could not and that is the biggest disappointment because I wanted to at least keep going until the last corner at full throttle.”
He now hopes to build on the lessons learned.
“A World title fight is an incredible experience,” he added. “I learned a lot and I will it implement in the future.”
