Rosberg ‘not thinking about 2016 yet’

Nico Rosberg is not looking at his latest victory as a stepping stone for a 2016 challenge, rather he’s taking each race as it comes.
Last Sunday the Mercedes driver claimed his first race win since June when he took the chequered flag in Mexico.
He held off team-mate Lewis Hamilton through the first lap, something he has struggled to do in recent outings, before racing on to the victory.
And although it had absolutely no impact on the Championship battle given that Hamilton won the title at the previous race in Austin, it did at least move Rosberg up to second place in the standings.
He will no doubt be hoping for more of the same at the Brazilian GP next weekend and as well as the season finale in Abu Dhabi, and you can bet on this and more at Paddy Power.
Rosberg, though, has ruled out using the win as a stepping stone to a 2016 challenge, adamant he is not yet thinking about next season.
“I don’t think about it that way,” the German, who is actually third favourite by Paddy Power to win next year’s title, told Crash.net. “I think about the races.
“There is no aim to win the championship or get one back on Lewis, it was just go out there and win. That is the same for the next two.
“I am not thinking about 2016 yet.
“Of course there are bits and pieces you need to plan ahead and count for next year but nothing major. I managed to put the past away and move forward.”
