Despite constantly saying he wants to remain at Williams, it appears Rubens Barrichello is growing tired of the team’s continuous issues.
The 39-year-old veteran is out of contract at the end of this season and has made it clear on numerous occasions that he wants a new deal.
And last month, Williams chairman Adam Parr stated that retaining the Brazilian for next year’s Championship will be the “most likely outcome.”
However, it now appears as if all is not well in Barrichello’s relationship with the Grove-based team.
The Brazilian, tired of his car continuously being used to test new parts, has hit out at his Formula One team.
He told Auto Moto und Sport: “I never once wanted to be a test driver.
“Our car is cooking the rear tyres. The driveability of the engine is bad and in slippery conditions it’s critical. No matter what we do, we can’t get the tyre problem to go away.
“We are bringing too many new parts to the car and are only confusing ourselves as the front end no longer fits to the rear.”
Barrichello’s comments come in the wake of rumours that Williams could sign their former driver Nico Hulkenberg as the Brazilian’s replacement for next season.
