The Sauber team has announced that their chassis is the latest to pass the mandatory FIA crash tests.
Sauber confirmed on Monday that their pre-season preparations were on track as the C35 was homologated by the FIA.
“YAY!” the team tweeted. “The Sauber C35 did it! Nose & chassis passed the static & dynamic crash tests!”
But despite the new chassis getting the go-ahead from the FIA, Sauber will not use it in the opening pre-season test.
It was revealed earlier this year that the team plans to use a modified version of last year’s C34 at the first Barcelona outing while the new car will run at the second.
