Christian Horner is singing the praises of Malaysian GP winner Sebastian Vettel, who is not only “cool” but also “really mature”.
Vettel conquered the heat and humidity at the Sepang circuit to take his second victory of the season ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button.
But it was by no means a Sunday afternoon drive for the reigning World Champ, who lost KERS during the race. However it was the way in which he maintained his tyres, which gave Red Bull various strategy options, that really impressed his team boss.
“I think Sebastian was coolest guy out there – his composure, the way he controlled the race, the way he looked after his tyres,” Horner told the BBC.
“We had options to do three or four stops, and he gave us those options – it was a really mature drive. We forget he’s just 23 years old – he can only just rent a hire car!
“He’s gaining more experience and just continues to get better.”
