Rubens Barrichello may be feeling optimistic about his chances of remaining at Williams but he is not the only Brazilian in the mix.
Senna is believed to have visited the Grove-based team’s factory earlier in the week and admits he is in discussions with the outfit.
“We’ve been in touch with them and quite a few other teams as well (about a 2012 seat),” Senna told GPUpdate.
“Of course I’m working hard and trying to find the best solution possible, but so far nothing is certain,” he added.
“There is still a lot of work to be done, so hopefully I can get a good seat.”
The 28-year-old served as Renault’s reserve driver in 2010 and he admits that there are likely to be similar opportunities available should he not be able to secure a race-seat. Such a situation is, of course, far from ideal.
“I’m sure there will be (opportunities), but it has to be the right one as well,” he explained.
“If there is no (Friday practice) driving involved in that then there is no point in doing it. But hopefully that won’t be the case and I will get to be driving a decent car.”
