Lance Stroll's challenging start to life in Formula 1 continued after he crashed into a barrier during Day Three of winter testing at Barcelona.

The rookie forced to Williams to miss an entire session on Day Two after sustaining damage to the front wing when he flew backwards into a gravel trap.

And just before the lunch break on Day Three, the Canadian ended up back in gravel where he was fortunate that there was no lasting damage.

Although he was able to resume after lunch, Stroll, who was closing on in 100 laps for the day, then lost control of the FW40 again and stopped at a tyre barrier at Turn Six.

The incident came just minutes after Carlos Sainz Jr stopped on track in his Toro Rosso, which had to be placed on a flatbed truck.
