Adrian Sutil has welcomed Vijay Mallya’s decision to confirm Force India’s 2012 driver line-up within the next two weeks.
Sutil is one of three drivers vying for a race-seat at Force India for next year’s Championship, along with Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg.
However, rumours in the Indian paddock claim the decision has already been made with Sutil making way for Hulkenberg and di Resta keeping his race-seat.
Mallya, though, insists he has yet to make a decision, although it will be imminent.
“I had said December as a timeline, but Adrian has requested to find out earlier and I respect that,” he told the BBC.
“We’ll think about it after this race and then make a decision.”
And Sutil has welcomed his team boss’s decision to move forward the announcement.
“I was hoping to hear this from Vijay because December is just too late, and I think it is not fair to the drivers,” the German told Autosport.
“I am happy that he understood that and let’s see what comes out.”
