Adrian Sutil reckons compatriot Sebastian Vettel “certainly” has this year’s Drivers’ Championship in the bag.
Vettel claimed his seventh victory of the season in Belgium last Sunday and has finished all but one grand prix on the podium.
As a result, the German has a massive 92 point lead in the standings over Mark Webber while Fernando Alonso is a further 10 of the pace.
Vettel could in fact wrap up the title in Singapore last this month, he just needs to outscore Webber by 33 points, Alonso by 24 and Jenson Button by 15.
“I think he certainly has the title,” Sutil told Auto Motor und Sport.
“In the next races he really only needs to take points, so I don’t see there is any great danger for him.
“Behind him it is still exciting but the World Champion is for sure.”
