Adrian Sutil may currently be without a drive but he has not given up hope of continuing his F1 career.

The German was dropped by Force India in favour of Nico Hulkenberg and missed out to Bruno Senna after being linked with a vacant seat at Williams.

As a result, Sutil is will not be on the season-opening grid for the first time since 2006, having made his debut for Spyker in 2007.

The 29-year-old knows that things can change quickly in the world of Formula One and is on the lookout for any opportunities that may arise.

“The plan, very clearly, is Formula One,” he is quoted as saying by SpeedTV.com.

“This is a new situation for me, but I’m motivated. Maybe I am having to have a short break, but it could be over very quickly if any opportunities open up.

“I’m hopeful. It’s always difficult to make plans in this business, but I would like to come back in 2013 with a very good team.

“It’s a shame for me that I will probably not be there at the start in Melbourne, but hopefully one way or another I will be back in the course of the year.”
