Toro Rosso, Honda talks ‘progressing’

Talks between Toro Rosso and Honda are “progressing”; that’s according to reports in the British media.
Last week, having lost the Sauber deal, Honda revealed that they are talking with “other teams” about a potential 2018 engine deal.
Reports surfaced suggesting that one of those teams is Toro Rosso, who use Renault team – and have a contract in place for next season.
But, according to Autosport, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko met with Honda’s F1 chief chief Masashi Yamamoto on Tuesday to discuss a move to Honda power for the junior team.
The publication reports that it was the “latest in a series of meetings” between the two parties.
And while the talks are centered around Toro Rosso and Honda, it could pave the way for Red Bull to make the switch down the line should Honda get it right.
