Heikki Kovalainen will be back behind the wheel of the Caterham CT03 at Spa and Monza, putting in the laps in first practice.

Dropped by Caterham at the end of last season, Kovalainen returned to the team earlier this year in Bahrain and Barcelona as their official test driver.

Entrusted with helping the team with the development work and evaluating their upgrades, Caterham’s form improved in the wake of the Finn’s runs.

Kovalainen has now been handed another two outings and will be action on Friday in Belgium and two weeks later in Italy.

“Mirroring the work @H_Kovalainen did for us in FP1 in Bahrain and Barcelona, he’ll be giving us another view of the car here at Spa and in Monza,” the team Tweeted.
