‘Verstappen is a Red Bull driver for 2019’

Christian Horner has again rubbished claims that Max Verstappen could be on his way to Ferrari in 2018, adamant the driver is locked into a Red Bull deal for a further two years.

According to reports Verstappen is seeking a way out of his Red Bull contract, dreaming of a race-seat at Ferrari.

And while some claim it could happen as early as next season, others believe the target date is 2019.

Horner, though, says it won’t happen at either time as Verstappen is locked into a Red Bull contract until the end of the 2019 season.

“He has a contract with the team for ’19,” the Red Bull boss told ESPN. “”After ’19 he is on the open market.”

As for the Ferrari stories going around about his driver, Horner labelled them “total rubbish, propaganda.”
