Sebastian Vettel says it was a joke between himself and his race engineer Guillaume Roquelin that had him attempting the ‘Crazy Frog’ song in Spain.

As he took the chequered flag at the Circuit de Catalunya on Sunday afternoon, Vettel was heard over the Red Bull radio doing a bizarre rendition of ‘Crazy Frog’ song.

Instead of his customary cry of ‘yes’, the reigning World Champ say, out of key, ‘ring-ding-ding-ding-a-ling’ much to the confusion of the BBC commentary team.

Explaining his choice of victory tune, the Red Bull driver said: “It’s a long story, to be honest.

“The first time we picked it up was in 2009 at Silverstone when we won the grand prix there.

“It’s a bit of a joke between my race engineer (Guillaume Roquelin) and myself that he comes on the radio and does this crazy impression, and if I feel like it, I do it back.”
