Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were a little downbeat about Ferrari's first showing at the Spanish Grand Prix race weekend.
Rivals Mercedes, armed with a new-look W08, finished 1-2 in both practice sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya, with the Scuderia managing to close the gap to within half a second despite less than encouraging longer stints.
However, both drivers retain hope that they will improve as the weekend progresses.
"Today I wasn't very happy with the feeling I was getting but I can also feel the car was quick," Vettel said in the paddock.
"The car was slippery but I think that was because of the conditions. I don't know who brought the most updates but it's about who brought the best."
Raikkonen said that the blustery conditions in Barcelona did not help on a "tricky" day.
The Finn added: "It was a difficult day. the conditions were very tricky. It was not an easy day but we kept trying things and we'll see if they come off tomorrow."
