Sebastian Vettel is eager to defend the ROC Nations Cup title for German but says this year he also wants the individual crown.

The Race of Champions gets underway on Saturday at Dusseldorf’s ESPRIT arena, featuring some of the best talent from F1, World Rally Championship, touring cars, Le Mans and the X-Games.

Vettel, who has won the ROC Nations Cup title four times with the help of Michael Schumacher, says this year he wants to defend the crown for German and taste individual glory.

“I have won the ROC Nations Cup four times and I am very happy with this result. It’s very similar to the Constructors’ Championship in F1 where you fight together for one target,” he told the official Race of Champions website.

“But I certainly have the ambition to win the individual Race Of Champions as well…”

And the F1 World Champion is relishing the opportunity to fight for both titles on home soil.

“The Race Of Champions is magic, a little bit like playing in a football stadium,” he said. “It’s very special and people who are undecided should definitely come along.

“I personally can’t wait. It’s a very good event to bring motorsport – and its feeling of competition and fun – close to its fans. To me it’s an unforgettable experience!”
