Wet, wet, wet at Monza

It was a wet – very, very wet – start to the day as the rain poured down in the build-up to final practice, eventually resulting in just 16 minutes of running.

It began with the simple message from the FIA that the start of FP3 had been delayed “indefinitely” due to the weather conditions.

Mercedes offered up proof of the adverse conditions.

Daniel Ricciardo’s helmet was ready to go, even though the driver wasn’t.

The Safety Car gave it a go but aquaplaned all over the place.

Kimi Raikkonen heads into the Ferrari garage to escape the rain.

The tifosi still flocked to the circuit, braving the conditions.

Romain Grosjean did not look as if he was enjoying the rain break at all.

Red Bull got the jump on their rivals as they waited at the end of the pit lane for the 11:44am start of FP3.

Some drivers were a bit braver than others with Carlos Sainz setting the opening benchmark and then lowering it.

Sebastian Vettel covered three laps in FP3 in the rain but opted not to set a time. It was wet.

A rather sad looking timesheet for FP3 with just seven times on the board and a Williams 1-2!
