Williams secure another Lotus sponsor

On the back of their most successful season since 2003, Williams have signed yet another new sponsor with Avanade, who joins the team from Lotus.
Last week Williams, who finished third in this year’s Constructors’ Championship, signed Unilever through its Rexona brand as a new sponsor.
Now this week the team has put pen to paper on a deal with Avanade, a global business technology, cloud and managed services provider.
Both companies had been with Lotus but given the uncertainty at the team coupled with its poor results in 2014 – just 10 points compared to Williams’ 320 – have opted to sign with Williams.
Deputy team principal Claire Williams welcomed the new deal.
She said: “Williams has undertaken an ambitious project over the past 18 months to invest in new technologies that will help keep us at the cutting edge of motorsport and advanced engineering.
“With this new partnership we will be working closely with Avanade to make sure that our investments are delivering their full potential.
“Avanade also understands the strength of the synergies between our two companies in areas such as technology innovation, gender diversity and encouraging the study of STEM subjects in schools and we will be looking to continue to enhance our involvement in those areas.”
