FIA confirms further Dutch Grand Prix punishments after triple investigation

Arvid Lindblad and Franco Colapinto have both had penalty points added to their FIA superlicences following the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.

Lindblad and Colapinto finished 12th and 14th respectively at Zandvoort on Sunday as McLaren driver and reigning world champion Lando Norris took victory.

Lindblad was handed a drive-through penalty for overtaking Pierre Gasly under double yellow flags on Lap 1, with two penalty points added to his licence.

The stewards’ report read: “The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, timing and in-car video evidence.

“Car 41 was behind Car 10 entering Turn 14 and overtook Car 10 in the double yellow flag sector before the Line at the end of Lap 1.

“Normally such infringement requires a 10 second stop/go penalty, but the Stewards acknowledge the complications caused by the significant amount of debris on track at this point and take this into account as mitigating circumstances.”

Colapinto was also handed a drive-through penalty and two penalty points for the same offence, having overtaken Yuki Tsunoda under double yellows.

The Alpine driver was later given a 10-second time penalty for failing to slow for yellow flags at Turn 3, with a further penalty point coming his way.

The stewards’ verdict read: “The Stewards reviewed video, timing, telemetry and in-car video evidence.

“Car 43 passed a single yellow flag without discernibly reducing speed although also receiving a visible warning on the dash.

“As the infringement was not considered dangerous or egregious, a penalty on the lower end of the available scale is imposed.”

Colapinto’s penalty points at the Dutch Grand Prix have put him on four for the current 12-month period.

Drivers face a one-race ban if they accumulate 12 penalty points inside a 12-month window, with former Haas driver Kevin Magnussen the first to be banned under the system in 2024.

Lindblad, the only rookie driver on the F1 2026 grid, sits 11th in the standings following Sunday’s race in the Netherlands with 23 points to his name.

Colapinto is one position behind in 12th, having scored 19 points so far this season.
